The Miss Klamath County’s Shining Stars program is a local chapter of Miss America’s Little Sisters designed to introduce participants to the Miss America Opportunity through various, non-competitive activities that focus on personal growth, confidence-building and sisterhood.

Why Participate?
Experience mentorship opportunities with our program delegates and volunteers
Build both on, and off-stage confidence, poise and leadership skills in a non-competitive setting
Get involved with the community in fun and unique ways
Discover the Miss America Opportunity, and begin to learn the pillars of our program: Scholarship, Service, Style, Success—and of course, SISTERHOOD!
Taking The Stage
As this is a non-competitive introduction to the Miss America Opportunity, all of our Shining Stars will receive crowns and sashes as a part of this exciting experience.
On dress rehearsal night, each Shining Star will walk the stage with their Miss and Teen in evening wear and will be crowned in front of their parents/guardians (audience attendance is limited for this night). They’ll also practice a full run-through of their production number to become familiar with performing on the stage.
The next evening, during the Miss Klamath County Competition, Shining Stars will perform the production number they’ve learned in front of a full audience and get the chance to walk across the stage again, in sash and crown, with their Miss/Teen mentors during the Evening Wear phase of competition.
All Shining Stars are given the opportunity to watch the show in its entirety together as audience members in between their own on-stage appearances as well.
